I appreciate your tact. Unsurprisingly, when most people find out, they like to give me shit for it. The older I get, the less patient I become with the entire process.
The last thing my grandfather ever had to say about me is that he "didn't have" a grandson named Pannacotta. And when the police looked into it, that might as well have been true as far as the law was concerned. When he cut ties with me, he didn't sever all legal responsibilities to me as my guardian; rather, he used his money and political influence to make it look like they never existed to begin with.
He wanted me to disappear. I refuse to give him the satisfaction.
