mostly. i think. i'm not sure.

do you want me to come over there so we can talk?

[digiorno]

if you want? if it's okay. i don't know. i'm not even sure i feel bad, just strange.

I'll be there in just a minute.

[Knock knock, Giorno.]

[digiorno]

It's open.

[And it is, and he's sitting on his bed, still dressed but with his hair down, and frowning slightly at a chip in his nails. He hasn't been biting them, but he's been thinking about it.]

. . . Hi, Noriaki.

[lapidarius]

Hi, Giorno.

[He closed the door behind him, similarly still dressed in a turtleneck without the jacket to match it. Settling right in like he clearly belonged there, Kakyoin sat down next to Giorno on the bed.]

[digiorno]

[It's easy and natural to curl up close to Kakyoin and lean against him. At the same time, it isn't. He feels off-kilter and strange, raw with emotion and blank in the same breath. Either way, he does it.]

You can't sleep?

[lapidarius]

Not really. I'm okay--just not really tired.

[Putting an arm around Giorno's shoulders came without a thought, the natural and comfortable reaction.]

What about you?

[digiorno]

I don't know. I'm a little confused. Better now, though.

[Better with Kakyoin, like he always is. Kakyoin makes him feel safe.]

Did you see? Earlier today.

[lapidarius]

I talked to Fugo briefly, presuming that's the subject at hand.

[digiorno]

That's right. He said he knew "Noriaki Kakyoin and Hierophant Green". I was surprised you told him.

[lapidarius]

I didn't have a lot of choices, he caught me with Hierophant right over my shoulder.

[digiorno]

But you told him about the other Stand users, too. Even Jotaro.

[lapidarius]

What? Of course I didn't--I gave him a rough estimate of how many of us there were, and that's all. I don't just go around telling people that kind of thing.

[digiorno]

Mm, then he got that somewhere else . . .

[He doesn't have all the answers, but in a way that's more rewarding. If Fugo didn't get all of his answers in the same place, then he integrated his information thoughtfully. Good.]

[He smiles a little.]

That's not really the point, anyway. He seemed put at ease by you. Well, relatively. [For Fugo.]

[lapidarius]

Was he? He seemed kind of on edge when we spoke. Not that I can really blame him for that, running into a Stand user he'd never seen before.

[digiorno]

. . . He's normally about twenty times more on edge than that.

[Like . . . Fugo. What are you gonna do.]

[lapidarius]

...Oh.

[that type of guy huh]

[digiorno]

Mmhmm.

[Yikes.]

That's why I'm saying any small amount of . . . less that . . . is impressive. I think it speaks to your skills as a diplomat, really.

[lapidarius]

I wouldn't know about that. I think I've just gotten used to meeting unfamiliar Stand users that aren't going to try to kill me on sight.

...Or might not, at minimum.

[digiorno]

That's sort of like diplomacy.

[lapidarius]

It's a talent in itself, perhaps.

[digiorno]

You are very talented, it's true. I told him how talented you are.
