[Ah.]
[That's . . . very clever, isn't it. Kakyoin is always so clever. Such a good person to talk to, to clarify things with. Kakyoin is, in his own way, a mirror just like Giorno is.]
[His fingers freeze in the process of pulling out yet another pin. Then, carefully and as though it takes some effort, he exhales, tugs out the pin and holds it and the others cupped in his hands. Stares at them. Nods.]
I wasn't someone amazing before. I don't want people to see that.

Kakyoin. I have a very important question for you.
(Note: it's not that important. Feel free to ignore this until the morning, I just wanted to send it to you while I was thinking about it. Sorry if this woke you up.)
Do you know if there are any shops here that carry earrings? Or the components to make them.

[Not a thing that's happening tonight, apparently. It's weird, but also kind of nice, to have someone else in the house who's often up late at night who isn't a complete grouchy asshole.]
Let me guess. The emerald hearts, right? Those looked like your handiwork.
If you aren't using the supplies, I'll take them off your hands.

It's fine. Charms should be easier to come by, since they can just be about anything.
Yes, I am. I don't necessarily need them tonight, but my door is open if you'd like to come over.
[His door is always open, but. As far as English turns of phrase go, Fugo finds this one to be rather charming.]

[Fugo's room is brightly lit, painstakingly tidy, and oddly empty, for someone who's been living in it for a nearly a month now. The most lived-in part of it is the desk, which has a collection of pens and pencils in a mug, some books from the library and bookstore in a stack, and what looks to be some handwritten sheet music resting on top of a notebook in the middle. His window is open, curtains thrown back to let in sunshine that won't be here for a few more hours yet. Fugo himself is sitting on his bed, a book over his knees. He's dressed in his pajamas, but his bed is still made. It's hard to tell if he's actually tried (and given up on) sleeping or if he hasn't felt the right sort of tired to try and lie down.]
Not really. You? [Fugo doesn't elaborate, but the nonchalant way he shrugs is indicative that these circumstances are hardly unusual. He unfolds from his position, abandoning the book, and pads over to Kakyoin.] Thanks for bringing these over.

[Fugo accepts the box, idly rifling through its contents.] No. Most of my fun sets were gifts, actually.
I'm not a big fan of dessert, so whenever we made something-- Buccellati and I, I mean--I'd always just cut up some strawberries to have instead when they were in season. Because he's an asshole, Narancia got me some strawberry earrings for my birthday as a joke. Except the joke was on him, because strawberries are great and why wouldn't I wear them on my ears. After that he just sort of kept at it, so I ended up with a little collection.
[Fugo's expression is distantly exasperated, but largely fond and nostalgic. Narancia is and was a rowdy asshole, but Fugo loves and misses him with a fierceness that surprises him every time he thinks about it.]
Since I only have one pair here, I thought I should try and find or put together some spares. I figured that the latter couldn't be that hard to do.

I noticed. You wear that pair fairly often. [Fugo doesn't laugh, but there's a twitch of a smile on one side of his mouth. He reaches up to flick at a dangling earring that he's not wearing right now.] Cherries are pretty good. I'd call that an acceptable preference.
[#important fruit opinions]
I'd like that, thank you. Any tips or instructions you have would be very helpful.

[... that's so ... imprecise ...]
A demonstration would be fine, if you'd rather. I'm a quick study. But the closest thing I have for charms right now are some buttons. [Fugo turns towards the desk, setting the box of supplies on the top and opening one of the drawers and pulls out another little box that fits in the palm of his hand. Inside is a collection of colorful, star-shaped buttons that are all about the size of a thumbnail.] Would these do? I picked these up with Giorno in mind, but I doubt he'd miss a few if we used them for this.

The table's fine. [Fugo transfers the box of buttons and box of supplies and tools to the table and takes a seat. He plops both elbows on the table and hooks his heels on the bottom rung of the chair, which gives off the impression that he's perching on the edge of the chair.] So, where do you usually start?
