[Fugo's room is brightly lit, painstakingly tidy, and oddly empty, for someone who's been living in it for a nearly a month now. The most lived-in part of it is the desk, which has a collection of pens and pencils in a mug, some books from the library and bookstore in a stack, and what looks to be some handwritten sheet music resting on top of a notebook in the middle. His window is open, curtains thrown back to let in sunshine that won't be here for a few more hours yet. Fugo himself is sitting on his bed, a book over his knees. He's dressed in his pajamas, but his bed is still made. It's hard to tell if he's actually tried (and given up on) sleeping or if he hasn't felt the right sort of tired to try and lie down.]
Not really. You? [Fugo doesn't elaborate, but the nonchalant way he shrugs is indicative that these circumstances are hardly unusual. He unfolds from his position, abandoning the book, and pads over to Kakyoin.] Thanks for bringing these over.
Not really, no. [He spared the room a quick glance over before focusing back on Fugo himself, handing the box over.] Don't worry about it--I don't think I'll need another pair anytime soon, so you're welcome to whatever you wanted to use.
[Fugo accepts the box, idly rifling through its contents.] No. Most of my fun sets were gifts, actually.
I'm not a big fan of dessert, so whenever we made something-- Buccellati and I, I mean--I'd always just cut up some strawberries to have instead when they were in season. Because he's an asshole, Narancia got me some strawberry earrings for my birthday as a joke. Except the joke was on him, because strawberries are great and why wouldn't I wear them on my ears. After that he just sort of kept at it, so I ended up with a little collection.
[Fugo's expression is distantly exasperated, but largely fond and nostalgic. Narancia is and was a rowdy asshole, but Fugo loves and misses him with a fierceness that surprises him every time he thinks about it.]
Since I only have one pair here, I thought I should try and find or put together some spares. I figured that the latter couldn't be that hard to do.
[Kakyoin laughed quietly at the explanation, a small smile on his face as he answered] I prefer cherries, myself--I ended up stuck with just this pair myself. I've made most of my own earrings, so I could help if you wanted it.
I noticed. You wear that pair fairly often. [Fugo doesn't laugh, but there's a twitch of a smile on one side of his mouth. He reaches up to flick at a dangling earring that he's not wearing right now.] Cherries are pretty good. I'd call that an acceptable preference.

I'd like that, thank you. Any tips or instructions you have would be very helpful.
I don't know if I'd be much with instructions--I tend to kind of stumble my way through it. But I think between the two of us we could figure something out.
A demonstration would be fine, if you'd rather. I'm a quick study. But the closest thing I have for charms right now are some buttons. [Fugo turns towards the desk, setting the box of supplies on the top and opening one of the drawers and pulls out another little box that fits in the palm of his hand. Inside is a collection of colorful, star-shaped buttons that are all about the size of a thumbnail.] Would these do? I picked these up with Giorno in mind, but I doubt he'd miss a few if we used them for this.
I assume you'd prefer a flat surface to work on. [He gestures to the desk, then a little table by the window with a pair of chairs pushed in beside it.] There's the table or the desk, whichever you prefer.
The table's fine. [Fugo transfers the box of buttons and box of supplies and tools to the table and takes a seat. He plops both elbows on the table and hooks his heels on the bottom rung of the chair, which gives off the impression that he's perching on the edge of the chair.] So, where do you usually start?
I guess that depends on what kind you want--if you'd rather have another pair of studs, ones more like mine, or something else. [Kakyoin shrugged, leaning his head on one hand.]
Sure--it's pretty much what you'd expect. [He picked up a few pieces, bending a short wire carefully into a half-circle; without closing it just yet he hooked it through one end of a thin chain.]
The only difficult part is making sure it doesn't break in the process, and making sure it can hold both the end of the chain and the charm it's connected to without falling off.
[He watches Kakyoin work, focus oddly intent for such a little thing.]
It would be a shame to lose a charm that way, yes. [Even if these are just buttons.] You mentioned that you made most of your own earrings. Is jewelry-making a hobby from back home, or did you learn how to out of necessity here?
I wouldn't go far enough to call it a hobby. I just like keeping my hands busy, and I was never really able to find a pair I was satisfied with. So I just made two or three of my own.
I can understand that. [Given how he's idly started tapping his fingers on the table while they talk, he means that pretty literally.] That's one of the most frustrating things about this place. Since this city isn't actually a city, it's an effort to find things to keep busy.
Hm...yeah, it does tend to get fairly dull when it's not complete and utter chaos. I've managed to find enough to keep myself occupied over the last year, but it hasn't been easy by any means.
I usually end up drawing, myself. I've never tried to play an instrument before.
[Kakyoin frowned slightly at the chain and wire as he spoke--it seemed a little silly to use buttons as makeshift charms. He could do much better than that. Of course he had no idea if Fugo cared much for green, but...honestly. If Giorno caught him with buttons hanging from his ears neither of them would hear the end of it.]
[Coming to an apparent conclusion, he let Hierophant's hands manifest over his own and formed a small strawberry made of emerald on the end of the chain.]
[In Fugo's defense, despite being an incredibly tacky person, he had no intention of actually wearing buttons from his ears. He wasn't expecting to actually make earrings tonight; they were just something he had on hand (because they reminded him of Giorno's somewhat silly self-descriptor of gang-star) that he could pass off to Kakyoin, so he could see an example of Kakyoin's technique.
To say that he's surprised by Hierophant is an understatement. Whatever remark Fugo might have had about drawing or music is forgotten; even his hands still, caught in a pose of mid-tapping over the table. He watches, plainly fascinated, as the tiny emerald takes shape between Kakyoin's hands.]
What delicate work... [He blinks, before Kakyoin's question registers.] Ah, it looks-- nice.
