I haven't...done a lot when it comes to these things, so I don't know how it should work. But I might not mind trying to figure out if I like one thing more than another. Whether I prefer holding your hand myself over letting Hierophant do it, or if I'd rather just lean on your shoulder like this.

It's because I think about you a lot, so naturally I think about that kind of thing. That's why I assumed you did too.

[That got Kakyoin to answer with a small smile and another small kiss against his jawline.]

I usually just assume I know not to do anything stupid that you won't like. Maybe I should think a little more carefully about it.

...I like it when Hierophant is included.

There, that's my first one.

Yeah?

[Right on cue, his Stand appeared and snaked around Jotaro's shoulders like it ordinarily would have done with Kakyoin himself.]

...So do I.

[starmark]

I know.

[Thinking this was probably an opportune time for it, he set his guitar safely aside, then leaned back and relaxed into Hierophant's coils with a nonchalant air.]

Not just because he's a part of you, but because I know you can feel it when I do this.

[He tilted his head over and down, mouthing lightly against one of the tendrils.]

[lapidarius]

Ah-- [Kakyoin's shoulders went rigid for a second, a shiver quickly running through Hierophant and right down his spine.]

...you just like startling me, don't you?

I think it's interesting. Feeling things through your Stand.

I feel it when people touch Star and it's always...interesting. So when it's you, it's doubly so. I like that I can watch you react from a little distance. And that your Hierophant, who hates being out in the open, feels safe when he's curled up with me.

[lapidarius]

Of course he does. [Kakyoin glanced away, restlessly fixing his glasses.] We both trust you.

I really...think I like when you bring out Star Platinum, too.

[starmark]

...Yeah? What about it...what in particular? He's a lot more outgoing lately, than he's been. Mom made him some cards for Christmas so he can try to talk and stuff, even.

[lapidarius]

I just...like watching him, you know? He's much more outgoing than Hierophant, and I've always found that kind of fascinating.

[He shrugged, faltering and starting to look a little embarrassed.]

I like seeing what other Stands in general say about their users, so of course I'd like yours.

[starmark]

...I'll admit, I'm getting more and more interested in it lately, myself.

[He settled back again, nuzzling up against Hierophant with a brush of his cheek.]

So. What does Star say about me?

[lapidarius]

The short version? It says you look and act tough but you're actually pretty harmless.

[kakyoin.]

[Without missing a beat, he freed a hand to catch hold of one of Hierophant's coils and gave him a firm, no-nonsense squeeze.]

[lapidarius]

Okay, okay, sorry, I was just kidding!

[starmark]

I'll bite him.

[He said, but a little ripple right near the end of the sentence suggested that he was carefully restraining the beginnings of a laugh.]

The long version?

It's...let me try to phrase that differently. Star's tough and can be really dangerous in a fight, I know that from experience on both sides of it. He even looks like a threat, if someone doesn't know any better. But there's a lot more to him than that--what I mean is that he's not just as straightforward as 'punch it until it stops moving'.

[So basically a giant punchy kitten.]

So he's exactly what any Stand is; a reflection of its user.

[starmark]

[He closed his eyes, seeming to withdraw inwardly for a fraction of a second, and in the next moment after that, strong purple arms gently circled around Kakyoin from behind.]

He knows how to be gentle, too, you mean?

[lapidarius]

Y-yeah. [He was startled for just a second at the sudden appearance. but Kakyoin quickly relaxed and leaned back in much the same way as Jotaro with Hierophant.]

That's exactly what I mean.

[starmark]

He likes you. I'm sure I influenced that, but it's not entirely me dictating it, either.

[lapidarius]

Really? [Tilting his head, Kakyoin looked over his shoulder to Star Platinum in slight interest.]

That's...'weird' isn't the word for it at all, but it's hard for me to even imagine having a Stand that independent.

It's hard for me to imagine having one for my whole life. Can you imagine what it'd have been like, if I could've stopped time at three or four years old? Or worse, if Star had been putting other kids in the hospital after playground fights at recess?

I'm sure he'd be a lot different, if that were how it'd been. I think...a lot of what we did made him who he is now.

[lapidarius]

[Kakyoin covered his mouth with one hand, hiding the sudden quiet laugh brought on by the image of a miniature Star Platinum.]

I think you're right. Things would probably have ended up a lot different, if the two of you were more like us.

[starmark]

[Mmm. Good. The sight of Kakyoin laughing was always good.]

There was a guy once, whose Stand did that. Reverted you back to a younger age. He did it to me and I lost Star, because I didn't have him when I was young. The bastard...

I think I remember hearing Polnareff complain about something like that when I got back. That probably would have even given me a lot of trouble, if I think about it.
