It's kind sad there's not more people like him, but kinda good, too.
[But he did promise an airplane, and an airplane there shall be. He does his thing, which admittedly looks a little cheesy, and on comes his targeting system, and out comes Aerosmith, buzzing in place for a fraction of a second before circling low above them.]
[Cheesy nothing, because from the look on Kakyoin's face that was easily the coolest thing he'd seen in a while.]
Woah--so that's Aerosmith, huh? It really is just like an airplane, that's something different. I've seen a vehicle Stand before, but I like yours better.
[The coils around his arm trailed to the floor, his Stand's full body forming as they twisted together in an instant.]
[Is that... someone being impressed with Aerosmith? Dang. Narancia can't help a cocky grin.]
Yeah, it's an airplane, and it does stuff basically like airplanes do. I can shoot with it, it's got bombs, and I can track with it too, like with a radar.
[But hell no, there better not be anyone else with a Stand like his. It's uniquely him and perfectly matched. He loves it. Of course, when Hierophant slithers into shape, Narancia's eyes get a little wider.]
That sounds really useful. Dangerous, too; bet you can cause a hell of a lot of damage. So that- [he gestured to his own face to indicate Narancia's tracking system] -must be how you track your targets, right?
[Narancia's reaction earned a smirk that was almost a grin of his own, repressed just a little. Kakyoin loved it more than most when his Stand was praised or someone took interest in it--to him it meant someone liked both of them, in some way.]
He's a little different than most humanoid Stands I've met; most of them can't change form like this. We can shoot projectiles, and I have a pretty good view of whatever he can see if I have him scouting an area.
Yep. It's pretty badass, right? It's like I'm in a comic or something. Since everybody can do different things, I can do different stuff with different people...
[Aerosmith circles again. a low drone coming from its "engine".]
...but I work pretty well on my own. It's long distance, yanno, like I said, so I can't always rely on other people. Not like it can change much though. Yours is pretty neat like that.
[That means he'd like to see it, but also not. He doesn't particularly want to have to see Stands in action. They're not just for funsies. Pranks and violence? Fun. Stand attacks? A lot less so, really. Even if he's amazing with his.]
I know the feeling. Stands with a longer reach have a wider range of uses, too. [yes finally someone Gets It] We work fine on our own, but we're a lot tougher to beat when we team up with someone else. Hierophant's not much for strength, so a close-range Stand with a little destructive force behind it is the perfect partner for us.
[When he was asked what projectiles, Kakyoin smirked even wider and held his hand to one side expectantly. Hierophant moved to match him, and with a faint glow a single gemstone dropped into the redhead's outstretched hand.]
Emeralds. [He held it out for Narancia to see a little more clearly, or even outright take if he felt like it.] It's a little unusual, maybe, but enough of them together has a fair amount of power behind it.
[Narancia will admit that he doesn't always play the best with others, but sometimes he really can pull it out. He's a force of nature, in all honesty, and clever to boot, with intense tactical skill that can be worked with if the other person is patient and swift.]
Aerosmith's small--it's pretty easy to get it around.
[And now Kakyoin has bling? What in the actual hell? Just moving in a bit, flipping up his targeting lens and looking more closely...]
I kinda like it. I don't wanna say I've seen better, but if you can go long range, move fast, and shoot, it's not a bad combo. Like...
[He's coming up with a scenario right now, and that's probably annoying, so he shakes his head and shrugs.]
Okay, you gotta tell me the range of it, and the range of the shot, first. [He lists these off on his fingers.] And how long can he stretch out? Color change? Total shape change?
[There's another little lean in--this is a challenge.]
Hierophant can reach fifty meters; he doesn't change color, but he can turn into tripwires that I can make disappear with the right amount of concentration. It's either this form or the other, but I've never tried to see if I have a limit on how many of those I can manipulate.
[To illustrate the point, Hierophant's body uncoiled into a handful of coils in varying sizes; a smaller one laced itself between its user's fingers, a few wider ones returning to his arms and shoulders.]
As for his Emerald Splash, it varies a little. It can be like a shotgun or just a minor concussive blast, and I've never tested to see what its maximum effective range might be. So the question's more 'how much do they deserve it'?
[That was something worth thinking about, and he carefully filed it away for later.]
Probably oughta figure some of that out... Or, I guess there's not a lot to do with it here.
[He taps his chin.]
Okay so fifty meters, that's... [Math. MAKE SOMETHING UP.] Pretty far. [Weak answer, orange.] I mean, close up you could trap somebody easy, but that's not even cool. If it doesn't get hurt by the Emerald Splash, you could redirect 'em with the thinned part easy. Like you're playing pool. Maybe that's not the best idea... It'd be pretty precise.
Traps are our specialty, but you have a fair point. If someone sees it coming, we're out of luck. [Most of the time, he was clever enough to make sure that didn't happen, but it would be a good idea to plan for a mistake or misstep.]
Precision isn't Hierophant's best quality, but I can manage well enough when the situation requires it.
Okay, so you herd 'em into the trap. But that's kinda... lame.
[BUT WHAT IF...]
Man, it's too bad I can't help you. Two-sided attack. And that way if they block one side they can't block the other, you funnel 'em in, and blam! I can keep Aerosmith from stalling pretty good, top-down's totally a thing, too.
