[Kakyoin wasted exactly no time in doing just that, walking in just a minute or two later.]

[Sure enough, there was Jotaro sitting atop the comforters on the bed, one leg sprawled out and the other bent at the knee, with his acoustic guitar in his lap and a melody of easy, idle notes being strummed out of the strings.]

You weren't busy, huh?

Not really.

[He sat down next to Jotaro as had become usual, pushing his glasses into place with a smile.]

Besides, I wanted to thank you for that in person.

I was set to feel pretty stupid if I'd gotten it wrong. It's from one of the games you like...right?

[He shifted slightly, making room for Kakyoin to lean on him if he liked, without running the risk of getting hit in the face by any guitar handling involved.]

Right.

[Kakyoin settled right in against his shoulder, careful not to bump into the guitar as he did.]

You might like that one, you know. It's about a hero who saves a princess from a powerful force of evil.

I don't get the draw of video games. If I wanted to play baseball, why would I sit in my house and play it on the TV? I could just go outside and really play.

[He shrugged.]

That's hardly something you'd normally do.

Normally? I don't know about that. I'm half Joestar, so as best I can tell that's exactly what's called "normal" for my family.

[He leaned over, nuzzling a kiss against Kakyoin's ear and catching the shell briefly in his teeth for a nip.]

How have you been doing lately? With...everything.

A lot of things are 'normal' for your family and Stand users in general that aren't normal for most people.

[...but he seemed perfectly fine with dropping the subject and just tilting his head a little. That was preferable to whatever 'normal' was anyway.]

...Yeah. We definitely have that much.

...Well. I want ones of after our trip, too.

So do I. I want us to be able to do something simple like this back at home, and know that I'll never forget it. Even if it's just some small thing without much to it, that's...important, isn't it?

Yeah. Seems like big things will be thrown at us whether we like it or not...so small ones can be nice, too.

That works out pretty well, since I like listening to your playing. You're really good at it.

...My dad lives for it, you know. His music. He's one of those people who acts like music is like breathing, he couldn't live without either one.

I don't get how he and my mom do it, staying so close when he's gone so often.

[lapidarius]

...It's probably difficult, but I don't know if it's impossible.

[starmark]

...That's why I want as much of you as I can get. While I have you. There's all the time in the world, but I want the memories, too.

[lapidarius]

I know. I don't want to waste time even if we do have enough of it to spare. I want this to be worthwhile and something we can always remember, especially if anything ends up happening.

...Not...that I'm saying it will.

...So the playing, it's working?

[lapidarius]

It's definitely working.

[He punctuated that with a light kiss to the cheek and a playful smirk, the serious turn in conversation quickly dropped on his end.]

Hm. Good...guess I've got some of the old man's knack for it, after all.
