[2 seconds later there comes a Knock]

It's unlocked.

[And inside was of course one Kakyoin, sitting around (in very nice shoes) and trying not to look apprehensive.]

[Giorno doesn't exactly kick the door down, but he does burst into it with a fair amount of excitement. There's a paper-wrapped package under his arm, tied with a bow because Presentation Is Important, and he's all smiles until he sees Kakyoin and gives him a sharp look.]

I'm not going to bite you.

I-I know that!

[chill, kakyoin]

I'm just kind of...I don't know. Polnareff seemed like he was acting weird about the whole idea, so I guess I'm just a little-...

['AM I GONNA LOOK GOOD']

Never mind. I'm sure it'll be okay.

. . . Wait, he said something? When did he say something? He didn't tell me he said something.

[PAPA WHAT DID YOU DO]

What--it wasn't negative or anything like that. Kind of sounded like he wasn't sure how to approach it, honestly. You know how subtle he...isn't.

He was practically tactful by his standards, honestly.

When did this happen.

[HE WILL KICK POLNAREFF'S ASS FOR YOU, KAKYOIN. HE'LL KICK HIS OWN ASS.]

[why does everyone want to kick someone's ass for him]

Oh. Then that was after . . .

[Hm. He seems to settle a little, bouncing on the balls of his feet.]

So I shouldn't fight him.

[He tosses the package at Kakyoin and perches on the edge of the bed. There are little green ladybugs on the paper, for the record.]

After...what? Is everything okay?

[He looked from the package to Giorno, deciding that the latter was obviously first priority.]

[digiorno]

Oh, it's fine. He was just being stupid. I told him to stop being stupid.

[OBVIOUSLY IT WAS EXACTLY THAT SIMPLE. But he really doesn't look at all bothered.]

Someone does need to do that, once in a while. We should have written a guide on how to deal with Polnareff, it would have come in quite useful for future generations.

[he's only half-kidding, and veeeery carefully opening that package]

[...the paper's nice okay]

[digiorno]

We can still write it! There's time. Someone ought to. I mean, it could have been worse, but really, he's just . . .

[boys.............. are so weird.]

[But anyway: under the paper is the promised dress. Back covered, shoulders only partially bare, green and reminiscent of brush strokes. Giorno watches Kakyoin eagerly, kicking his feet a little while the package is unwrapped.]

He's very himself, I can't think of many other ways to describe...it...

[oh my god he is awestruck and a little bit in love. so much so that he forgot to continue gently dunking on polnareff.]

[now that's an indication of serious shit]

...It's perfect.

[digiorno]

[It's actually moderately worrying when Kakyoin just stops talking. Admittedly Polnareff hasn't been around that long, but even Giorno knows that dunking on him is a national sport. So he watches Kakyoin a little nervously until he speaks, and then — grins a little, biting his lip.]

Really?

[small delighted footkick....]

Of course. It's really fantastic, it looks just like a canvas and it'll mostly cover my shoulders--

[Beat.]

Wait right here.

[...there he goes ducking into the bathroom to change apparently (casually barricading the other door on polnareff's side just in case)]

[digiorno]

[Okay so: it needs to be said that this is the cutest thing that's ever happened in Giorno Giovanna's entire life to date. So as soon as Kakyoin is firmly ensconced in the bathroom, he footkicks ferociously for a moment or two and then curls up on the bed, legs tucked under him, waiting So Patiently.]

[And, it has to also be said, being grateful that he picked a style that's really easy to get into while also planning something hideously complicated with lots of straps for if Polnareff ever lets himself get talked into this. #revenge]

[HE'S JUST HAPPY TO BE HERE FOR ONCE OKAY]

[A minute or two later, Kakyoin came back out(without even stumbling a little in those shoes) looking generally pleased but a little awkward regardless. This was definitely going to take some getting used to, but he couldn't deny it looked nice.]

[(He really didn't want to think about the idea that anyone else would think he was weird if they saw this, but so it went.)
